Hublot Watches, an Overview

Hublot Watches, an Overview

The founder of the Hublot watch company Carlo Croco by tradition and training is an Italian. So the Italian element is a strong trait in his watch designs which is so visibly present in the elegance and grace at the same time the toughness of the watches. Way back in 1967 he had designed his first watch. However, only in 1980 he came to his own, setting up his watch company in 1980. The name of the company is MDM Geneva. With in a short time the Hublot watches shot into prominence and became the ultimate symbol of elegance and grace.
The first Hublot watches saw the light of the day in 1980. It was designed like the porthole. It is a French word which means the porthole of a ship which is a round aperture that is fitted with glass. The word has a nautical flavor about it. The designer uses the porthole pattern as a signature of the watch. Because of this unique design the watch is today noticed by all in any crowd. The watches are made both in polished and brushed metal designs and has a rubber bracelet. The innovation of natural rubber in watch bracelets is one of the design geniuses of Carlo Croco.
The taking of the leader ship of the company in 2004 by Jean-Claude Biver certainly gave to the brand a much needed boost. He had worked for Audemars Piquet, Omega and Swatch Group. The expertise that he gained from these great companies now crystallized in the Hublot watches. Hublot watches are in fact the fusion of many traditions at the same time maintaining a unique stamp.

The launch of the Big Bang chronograph, in 2005 was the decisive moment in the life of Hublot. It was truly a bang for the company. One of the recent crowing glories of the company was the selection of the company as the official time keeper to FIFA World Cup. In the substitution boards Hublot is prominently exhibited which became more popular for this. Everyone started asking what Hublot on the board meant. This was a massive popularity for the great watch company. Among the Hublot watches Hublot Maradona Leather, Hublot World Cup, Hublot Geneva, Hublot Red Devil Bang and Hublot Ayrton Senna Limited edition are very popular.

Hublot Big Bang Chronograph

The daring act of Carlo Croco to equip a gold watch with a rubber strap was an epoch making event in the history of watch making. It made a big bang in the horological circles. This became a trend with many other high end watch makers glibly copying the style. In 2004 Jean Claude Biver joined the Hublot and the bang was even bigger.
Hublot Big Bang Chronograph was launched in 2005 and in the same year in got the celebrated Best Design 2005 at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de la ville de Geneve. The same watch received the accolade of the Japanese. The watch was the winner of the Sports Professional category in the prestigious watch of the year 2005 Award in Japan. The Japanese award, from the land of the rising sun, is no small recognition for the watch. This has evidently enhanced the prestige of the watch all over the world and has hiked the number of people who long for the watch.

Hublot Big Bang is a tantalizing watch due to many things. The  brute force of the movement from which it derives it strength and  the multi-layered construction of its case using hitherto untried materials like tantalum, ceramic, carbon, rubber and Kevlar combined with steel, Red Gold and rubber make the watch a unique product. The original big ban was available in 44 mm cases. The presentation of the watch has now more options in cases of 38mm, 41mm and 48mm to accommodate wider requirements.
Big Bangs are not easy buys as the base models are priced at more than $10,000 and higher models moving into staggering prices. The popularity of the watches has created an ever increasing number of clientele who consider owning a Big Bang a great achievement.
