Tissot pocket watch, open
Tissot watches reveal the genius in high end watch making. The brand of watches are proverbial for their courage in experimenting with all kinds of material and style as a result they have many firsts to their credit.
In 1853 they started mass production of pocket watches, the first company ever to do that. The first pocket watch that showed two time zones launched in the same year was theirs. The first watch with anti-magnetic properties was their contribution to the world. These bold experiments of the watch company made it a great watch.

The push for experimentation on novel substances is the in-built philosophy of the company. They experimented with all kinds of unthinkable stuff. So in addition to the normal material, they prepared watches made of plastic, stone and wood. World saw the first plastic watch, IDEA 2001 in 1971.In 1985 the company came with a watch made of stone called the Rock Watch. These were followed by the Pearl Watch in 1987 and the Wood Watch in 1988.

Tissot watches, because of their enormous reputation are sold in 150 countries. The original company was set up by Charles Felicien Tissot and his son Emile in Jura Mountains of the Swiss city of Le Locle. Tissot has been the choice of some of the most fabulous men in the world.

Tissot watches are no ornaments for neon light style icons; they are the time keepers for many sporting events. The Tissot kept time for world championships in cycling, motorcycling, fencing and ice hockey. Davis cup used it in 1957. In 1938 it was the official time keeper for Downhill Skiing held in Switzerland.

These watches have been featured in films like Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life and Mr. & Mrs. Smith.  The watches have a galore of clients like Elvis Presley, Grace Kelly and Nelson Mandela. The watch’s value as a fashion statement is so high that there is a large body of clients ready to own a Tissot.
