Her divorce did not take away her charm and celebrity status. However, after the separation she is often spotted with an 18K yellow Gold Cartier Tank Francaise watch.  Now that the world looks at Diana as an iconic figure of the twentieth century and all that she used in the past are under the microscope. Her artifacts have now the value of relics.

Watches are perhaps the real visible symbols of your wealth. You can not wear your flats, yachts, and the bank balance on your person. This allurement for watches is scene in many politicians like Blair, Berlusconi, Clinton etc. Several Russian deputies and governmental officials parade their fondness for the Swiss brand. The Chairman of the Russian energy giant RAO UES, Anatoli Chubais adorns himself with a Patek Philippe.  Peter Aven, the President of the Alpha Bank wears a fitting Patek Philippe suited to a great banker. Moscow Mayor Yiri Luzhkov too hosts a Patek Philippe Calatrava worth not less than $18,000. Similarly Chelsea’s owner Roman Abramovich loves Rolexes. The Rolex that he wears now might cost around $29,000.

One of the great leaders that helped Russia to say adieu to communism, Mikhail Gorbachev’s watch is an Omega Constellation.  Has the perestroika obliterated some of the earlier symbols of austerity, the sickle bearing maid and the hammer bearing worker and opened up a Russia of glitter and glamour now brandishing their symbols of  new wealth and prosperity in Swiss watches?. The owner of such an impressive watchdrobe Kelly is definitely one of the richest Americans. However, it is amazing such a man keeps aloof from popular view. But certainly in horological circles he is very much in the limelight due to the impressive array of masterpieces in his collection.

It is seen that certain things do get old but the value of them certainly increases. What makes luxury watches from celebrated houses priceless legacies can be explained by the psychological urge of man to possess and own what is unique and rare.
